Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) is inviting bids for 400kV and 132kV substation projects. The 400kV substation project involves the construction of Majan 400/220/132kV grid station with associated 400kV LILO (underground cables) from SFZ grid station to SIS grid station.
The 132kV substation project involves the construction of Sultan Haitham City 132/33kV grid station and associated 132kV LILO (underground cables) from Mobilla grid station to Mobilla Industrial grid station. OETC has set the bid submission date as July 22, 2025.
Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC), the state-owned electricity transmission company, plays a key role in Oman’s electricity sector as it owns and operates the main transmission network across the Sultanate, through which electricity is transmitted from generation plants to distribution load centres in all governorates of the Sultanate. The main transmission network operates at high voltages of 132kV and above. As part of its responsibilities for economically transmitting electricity in the Sultanate, OETC is also responsible for balancing generation and demand at all times of the day.
A key project in the design phase is the North-South Interconnector Phase-2, which will extend the transmission system from Takhm Industrial to the Thofar 400/132kV substation with the Shalim substation, and together with Phase 1, will form the Oman National Grid.
